December 2022 Newsletter

After a warm and very wet autumn, some lawns have become saturated so do try to keep off them as much as possible and be prepared for some grass die back and a resurgence of moss. However the weather pattern is changing and December is going to be much colder due to high pressure building to the north. Frost and ice will become more frequent as temperatures fall below the early winter average with less rain than normal but occasional outbreaks will become wintry. Try to avoid walking on your lawn when it is still frosty as this can cause the frozen grass cell walls to rupture, resulting in damaged grass footprints which can take a while to recover and disappear.
